Savills has announced, under the instruction of the property owners, a public invitation to tender for the sale of the entire building at 35 Bonham Road, Mid-Levels West, a mixed-use commercial and residential property. The tender includes the option to purchase the entire building or just the basement and first floor. The property covers a site area of approximately 1,648 square feet, with a total building area of around 6,545 square feet. The tender deadline is 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

The property is a four-story mixed-use building with commercial space on the lower floors and residential units above. Each floor, including the basement, spans between 1,115 and 1,600 square feet. The building’s design follows a Neo-Classical architectural style, featuring a classical pediment and various Roman and Greek architectural elements.

The property enjoys a 999-year leasehold and is in a prime location, just a 2-minute walk from Sai Ying Pun MTR Station and adjacent to the Mid-Levels escalator system. This section of Bonham Road is also home to several other protected historic buildings, such as King’s College and various historical buildings of the University of Hong Kong, contributing to the area's rich historical and cultural atmosphere.

According to the developer, this building is one of the few remaining pre-war European-style buildings in Hong Kong and has been classified as a Grade II historic building.

The building at 35 Bonham Road was completed in 1945, shortly before the end of World War II. It occupies a site area of approximately 1,648 square feet and was designated a Grade II historic building on March 22, 2011. The building is four stories high, with a pale green exterior and large balconies on each floor, giving it a distinctive and elegant appearance. The ground floor used to house a bakery that supplied gourmet bread to American soldiers stationed in Hong Kong.
